Benefits & funding

• Erasmus Mundus scholarship worth up to €25,800: the €9,000 tuition fee plus €1,400 a month for up to 12 months toward travel, visa, installation and living costs.
• Up to 3 Erasmus Mundus scholarships a year for candidates from Programme Countries and up to 7 for Partner Countries.
• Consortium scholarships open to any nationality: up to 2 of €9,000 (full tuition), up to 4 of €6,000 and up to 6 of €3,000.
• The €9,000 tuition fee covers registration, administration, health insurance and programme organisation; health insurance is provided to scholarship holders and self-funded students alike.
• No subsistence money is paid for study, research or dissertation periods spent in the scholarship holder’s own country of residence.
• Not covered: living costs of €650–1,000 a month, accommodation of €300–600 a month, and a €250 deposit refunded at first university registration.

Eligibility

• A degree in civil engineering, architecture or an equivalent field worth 240 ECTS (four years) or 300 ECTS (five years).
• 300 ECTS is mandatory when the mobility path includes the University of Florence.
• Final-year students may apply if they graduate by 31 July; the place is conditional on submitting diplomas by 10 August.
• English proficiency for non-native speakers: TOEFL 525 paper or 72 internet, IELTS 6.5 academic, Cambridge B2, Duolingo 105 or equivalent, on a certificate less than three years old.
• Open to applicants worldwide; the consortium states there are no exclusions by nationality or citizenship.
• Erasmus Mundus scholarship candidates must apply in the first call and declare whether they have lived in a Programme Country for more than 12 months in the previous 5 years; anyone who already holds an Erasmus Mundus joint master scholarship cannot receive a second one.

Application process

   Prepare the documents: motivation letter of 1,500–3,500 characters, European-format CV, degree certificates, transcripts with grades and course syllabi, English certificate, evidence of relevant work experience, and proof of residence issued within 12 months of the deadline.

   Submit the online application form on the TERRA site; applications by email or post are not accepted.

   Enter the email addresses of two recommenders — the platform contacts them directly and the file stays incomplete until both reply.

   The academic committee ranks applications on prior studies, the awarding institution, professional experience, references and motivation.

   Preselected candidates are interviewed, then ranked into the admitted and reserve lists.

   Send hard copies of ID, motivation letter, English certificates, original diplomas, certified translations, transcripts and CV, then pay the €250 deposit and register at the first university.
