ARURCOHE is a 90-ECTS Erasmus Mundus Joint Master focused on safeguarding, conserving and reusing twentieth-century architectural and urban heritage. It is jointly delivered by the University of the Basque Country, Politecnico di Torino and Kaunas University of Technology.
Students complete the first six months in Donostia-San Sebastián, the next six in Torino, and a six-month dissertation path in Torino or Kaunas. The current intake has already been selected; the fifth edition is expected to accept applications from the end of January 2027 and run from October 2027 to March 2029.
Benefits & funding
- Eighteen top-ranked students receive €1,400 per month for 18 months, intended for travel, visa, installation and subsistence costs, with no mandatory participation costs.
- The next 12 ranked students may enter as partially funded Type 2 students and contribute €6,000; that amount does not cover their subsistence costs.
- Graduates receive a joint master’s diploma from Kaunas University of Technology and the University of the Basque Country, plus a second-level specializing master’s diploma from Politecnico di Torino.
Eligibility
- Applicants must hold an official higher-education degree in architecture, civil engineering, urban planning or an equivalent field.
- They must have completed five years of university study, equivalent to 300 ECTS, associated with a regulated profession; the 300 ECTS may come from one graduate degree or a graduate degree plus a master’s degree.
- Applicants whose native language is not English must prove English proficiency unless they completed prior studies in English and document that fact.
- Applications are accepted worldwide; scholarship allocation uses residence-based Erasmus+ geographical balance rather than excluding other applicants.
- Enrolled students must complete physical study periods in at least two countries different from their country of residence at enrolment.
