The International Master in Technology and Management for Circular Economy is a two-year Erasmus Mundus joint master’s run by universities in Prague, Oviedo and Turku. Students move through the three partner universities, choose a Technology, Policy & Management, or Science track, and complete a master’s thesis in the fourth semester.
The fifth cohort is scheduled for 13 September 2027 to 30 August 2029. Applications are currently between cycles and the next application period is announced for 1 December 2026 to 31 January 2027.
Benefits & funding
- Fully funded Erasmus Mundus scholarships are not expected for the 2027 intake.
- Selected applicants from eligible Partner Countries may receive a tuition-fee waiver covering the EUR 14,800 tuition fee; they must cover living and travel costs.
- Self-funded students pay EUR 14,800 tuition plus living, travel, accommodation and related costs; the program estimates two-year living costs at EUR 30,000–35,000.
- Students complete 120 ECTS across four semesters and receive three diplomas from the partner universities.
Eligibility
- Applicants must hold, or be completing, a recognized Bachelor’s degree of at least 180 ECTS in pure or applied science or an equivalent engineering qualification.
- Bachelor-level study must include at least 20 ECTS in chemistry, 5 ECTS in physics and 5 ECTS in mathematics.
- Non-native English speakers must provide recent proof of at least B2+ English; accepted examples include TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.0, PTE Academic 60 and Duolingo 110.
- Applicants must provide medical confirmation that they are fit to work in chemical laboratories.
- The program lists applicants from nearly all countries; nationality is therefore not encoded as an admissions bar, although the tuition-waiver route is limited to applicants from Partner Countries.
- No minimum professional experience, age, gender or residency requirement is stated; relevant engineering or circular-economy experience is scored but is not mandatory.

Application process
- 1Prepare the degree diploma or study confirmation, transcript, English-language evidence, motivation video or letter, EU-format CV, medical form and passport copy.
- 2Create an applicant account in the UCT Prague portal, select the English full-time post-Bachelor IMATEC program, upload the documents as separate PDFs and submit the online application.
- 3Complete the separate IMATEC Excel file and email it to mundus@vscht.cz with the applicant name and application number by the deadline.
- 4If shortlisted, attend a 15-minute online interview with the Joint Selection Committee.
