The Swiss Study Foundation awards these scholarships together with the Ernst Göhner Foundation to artists in training who lack the money to fund their studies. Students of every arts discipline qualify, design included and architecture excluded.
Recipients receive a monthly contribution of CHF 1,650 for a maximum of six semesters. The art school may be in Switzerland or abroad as long as it is accredited.
Six renewable scholarships are granted each year and the call is advertised publicly. Unlike most of the foundation’s scholarships, this one is open to applicants who are not yet in the foundation’s support program, provided they meet its admission criteria and want to take part in it.

Eligibility
- Students of all arts disciplines, design included, architecture excluded.
- Enrolment at an accredited art school in Switzerland or abroad, with at least one intermediate Bachelor-level transcript or a completed Bachelor’s degree.
- Maximum age 28 at the time of application.
- Financial need: the award is defined as support for artists in training who lack financial means.
- Applicants must meet the foundation’s admission criteria and be willing to take an active part in its support program.
- Those criteria are a current grade average of at least 5.3, a sense of responsibility and social engagement, broad interests, intellectual curiosity and creativity, knowledge of two official languages with the second at B1, and at least three full semesters remaining before the master’s degree.
- Existing foundation fellows are not the only eligible group: the foundation names this scholarship as one of the exceptions where applications are accepted without prior admission.
- Applicants must either hold Swiss nationality or have lived in Switzerland for at least four years.

Application process
