The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Resilience in Educational Contexts is a two-year, full-time degree led by the University of Malta with universities in Greece, Portugal, and Romania. It prepares educators and practitioners to strengthen resilience and wellbeing for children and young people in vulnerable or marginalised settings.
Students complete the first three semesters face to face through at least three mobility tracks. The fourth-semester dissertation may be completed online, on site, or in blended form.
Benefits & funding
- Erasmus Mundus scholarship holders receive EUR 1,400 per month for 24 months, and their tuition fees are waived.
- The scholarship contribution is intended for travel, visa, installation, accommodation, and subsistence costs; compulsory physical mobility is required.
- Self-funded tuition is EUR 5,000 for programme-country students and EUR 10,000 for partner-country students for the full program; travel, accommodation, and other study costs are extra.
Eligibility
- Applicants may be from any country and must hold a recognised Bachelor Honours degree at Second Class or higher in education, relevant social sciences, or another field related to children’s resilience, wellbeing, or mental health.
- The qualifying degree must include at least a basic research-methods module, and applicants must provide the required proof of English proficiency; the published exemptions apply to certain English-speaking-country qualifications.
- Relevant experience supporting marginalised children and young people is preferred, not required.
- Previous Erasmus Mundus Joint Master scholarship recipients may apply only through the self-funded route, not for another EMJM scholarship.

- 3Upload a passport copy, degree certificates and transcripts, any certified English translations, English-test evidence when required, a Europass CV with a photo, a motivation letter of no more than 500 words, and at least one signed recommendation letter.
- 4If selected, confirm acceptance in writing and present original documents during the first study week.
