YouthResource is a year-long development and leadership program created by and for LGBTQ+ youth of color. Advocates for Youth provides personal, professional, and political development intended to strengthen organizing and advocacy skills.

Members work in their communities, on campuses, and in digital spaces on LGBTQ+ health and rights, including HIV. The program combines a five-day institute in Washington, D.C., with advocacy activities carried out across the year.

Benefits & funding

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be LGBTQ+ youth of color.
  • Applicants must be 14–24 years old.
  • Applicants should already be active, or want to become active, in LGBTQ+ advocacy and organizing in a community, on a campus, or through digital media.
  • Applicants must be available for the Youth Activist Institute on September 5–9; the program page does not state the year for these dates.
