The UCL200 Laws LLM Opportunity Scholarship helps students of limited means undertake the full-time Master of Laws at UCL Faculty of Laws in London. It is intended for applicants who are UK-domiciled and eligible for Home fee status.
Recipients study the 10-month, in-person LLM and must show both financial hardship and potential to excel on the course. The 2026–27 cycle is closed, and UCL says information for the next cycle will be published in due course.

Eligibility
- Be UK-domiciled and eligible for Home fee status; UCL’s guidance defines qualifying UK domicile routes, including UK domicile of origin or qualifying ordinary residence with settled status.
- Be in financial hardship and unable to afford the LLM without the scholarship.
- Have attended only non-fee-paying, state-funded schools or educational institutions; any attendance at a fee-paying school makes an applicant ineligible.
- Not hold or currently be studying toward a Master’s degree or equivalent, including a postgraduate diploma, postgraduate certificate, or Juris Doctor.
- Submit a complete application, including the reference, for the full-time UCL LLM by the scholarship deadline.
- Meet UCL’s LLM entry requirements and demonstrate potential to excel; the usual route requires a recognized law qualification and normally a good 2.1 with evidence of first-class ability. In rare cases, a graduate without a law qualification may be considered with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
