Tsinghua University established the Tsinghua Global Youth Dialogue as an international exchange platform for young leaders. The 2026 edition, themed “Bridging the Divides,” combined practical exploration, structured dialogue and collaborative work in Hangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing.
Participants brought projects, research or youth initiatives into peer feedback, matchmaking and co-design sessions. The wider platform is supervised by Tsinghua’s Center for Global Competence Development and coordinated by the TGYD Secretariat.

- Participants remained responsible for international travel to and from China.
- The itinerary combined technology and innovation visits in Hangzhou, finance and entrepreneurship activities in Shanghai, and cultural dialogue and workshops in Beijing.
Eligibility
- Applicants had to be 18–35 years old.
- The call was open to young leaders from all regions and sectors worldwide, with no stated nationality, residency or degree restriction.
- The organizers sought applicants leading a practical project, especially one addressing global challenges, and those interested in international exchange and youth cooperation.
- Affiliation with a youth organization or international organization was described as a strong fit, not a mandatory condition.
