The Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld Scholarship is one of two Weidenfeld-Hoffmann schemes open to Master of Public Policy applicants at the University of Oxford, supported by the Louis Dreyfus Foundation.
Scholars take the one-year MPP at the Blavatnik School of Government in Oxford alongside leadership development, mentoring and networking. Applications for 2027–28 entry are now open, with a 2 December deadline.
Benefits & funding
- Full course fees plus a set amount for living costs (at least £21,805 in the most recent published terms).
- Covers the one-year MPP; the 2027–28 course fee is £54,650.
- A year-long leadership programme with long-term mentoring and networking.
Eligibility
- Hold an undergraduate degree and be ordinarily resident in a country in Africa, Asia or South America.
- Intend to return to your country or region of origin after the course.
- Aim for a career in or around agribusiness, food security or sustainability — e.g. agriculture, health, environmental or water management, economics, public or foreign policy.
- Show how your study and career will improve public life at home, regionally or internationally.
- Deferred offer holders and current Oxford students are ineligible unless already Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholars.
- No formal experience minimum is set, though MPP entrants usually have at least two years of work experience.
Application process
- 1Apply to the Oxford MPP by 2 December, with a personal statement, two essays, CV, transcripts and three references.
- 2Select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann programme in the scholarships section of the form and upload its dedicated scholarship statement.
- 3Only applications assessed in the December round qualify; held-over or waitlisted applications are not considered.
- 4Shortlisted candidates are interviewed, expected online.
