Benefits & funding

• The award covers 100% of University of Oxford course fees.
• It provides a grant for living costs of at least £21,805.
• Funding covers the full fee-liability period of the one-year MPP.
• Scholars join a year-long leadership programme featuring philosophical discussion, business skills, communication training, mentoring and networking.

Eligibility

• Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree and be ordinarily resident in a country in Africa, Asia or South America.
• Applicants must seek entry to a new full-time MPP at Oxford; deferred 2027–28 offer holders and current Oxford students are ineligible unless they are already Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholars.
• Applicants should intend to return to their country or region of origin after the course.
• Applicants must connect their proposed study and long-term career to improving public life in their country, region or internationally.
• The Louis Dreyfus route targets future leaders working toward food security and sustainability through fields including agriculture, health, environmental or water management, economics, public policy or foreign policy.
• The MPP has no age restriction and does not require prior professional experience.

Application process

   Apply for the Oxford MPP through the University’s graduate application route by the applicable December deadline.

   Select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme in the scholarships section of the graduate application form.

   Complete and upload the dedicated Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Statement with the graduate application.

   Secure a course offer from the applications assessed by the December deadline; applications held over or waitlisted are not eligible for scholarship consideration.

   If shortlisted, attend the scholarship interview, which is expected to be online.

   Applications for 2027–28 entry are expected to open; Oxford has not confirmed an exact MPP opening date.

3. 2 December 2026

   Published final MPP application deadline for 2027–28 entry.

4. Scholarship interviews are likely to be held online.

5. Scholarship decisions are expected.
