CONAPE, Costa Rica’s national education-loan commission, lists IHE Delft Institute for Water Education among its partner institutions. Under the agreement, IHE Delft offers a 40% tuition scholarship for its MSc in Water and Sustainable Development.
The programme is taught in Delft, the Netherlands, over one year. CONAPE gives only loans, not scholarships; it can lend the share the scholarship does not cover.
Benefits & funding
- 40% off tuition for the MSc in Water and Sustainable Development.
- Remaining costs can be financed with a CONAPE loan (in colones), repaid after studies; the guarantee (guarantor, mortgage or deposit) depends on the amount, and employed applicants who meet the conditions may need none.
- IHE Delft requires the full fee to be paid at least 2.5 months before the programme starts.
Eligibility
- CONAPE loans are for Costa Rican citizens over 15 (CONAPE FAQ).
- A Bachelor’s degree at B/B+ (US) or upper-second (UK) level in a relevant field; applicants below this may be considered with substantial proven experience.
- Good English if it is not your first language, meeting IHE Delft’s language requirements.
- The scholarship’s own conditions are set by IHE Delft; CONAPE says to contact the university for them.
Application process
- 1Email IHE Delft (e.kok@un-ihe.org) about the CONAPE agreement scholarship and its conditions.
- 2Apply to IHE Delft for admission by 1 July, earlier if you need financial help.
- 3Once admitted or in admission, apply online to CONAPE for a loan, at least three months ahead.
