LALA Leadership Camps are short, immersive leadership programs run by the Latin American Leadership Academy. Participants choose a five-day virtual camp or a seven-day in-person camp in Lima, Cusco, or São Paulo, with activities on self-awareness, relationships, leadership, and social innovation. Camps are offered in English, Portuguese, or Spanish depending on the cohort.
Completing a camp grants lifetime access to LALA’s community and ecosystem, including learning, mentoring, study, and career opportunities. The 2027.1 cycle is closed to the general public. LALA reopened applications for Colombian youth from August 13 to August 28, 2026, covering the virtual camps only.
Benefits & funding
- The standard fee before aid is USD 500 for a virtual camp and USD 1,500 for an in-person camp.
- Need-based awards generally cover 10%–90% of the fee; this makes participant charges USD 50–500 for virtual camps and USD 150–1,500 for in-person camps.
- The 2026 special Venezuelan extension offered 15 full scholarships for selected virtual-camp participants; other applicants remained eligible for need-based aid.
- In-person fees include accommodation, meals, local transportation, materials, and insurance. Travel to and from the host city, visas, passports, vaccinations, and similar travel costs are not covered.
- Virtual participants normally provide their own internet connection, although LALA may cover it in cases of clear need at the organizing team’s request.
- Accepted students who still need funds may join a four-week fundraising initiative with mentorship and campaign guidance.
- Camp completion provides lifetime access to LALA’s community and opportunity ecosystem.
