The Future Leaders Network selects UK delegates for the 2027 Y7, Y20 and COP tracks. Delegates gather youth views, develop policy recommendations and advocate for them with international counterparts, governments and other stakeholders.
The 12-month role runs from January 2027 to January 2028, with most work remote. Each delegate attends a summit in the United States, United Kingdom or Ethiopia, depending on track.
Benefits & funding
- No application or participation fee.
- Y7 and Y20 hosts usually cover in-country accommodation and board; delegates pay travel and all uncovered costs.
- COP delegates must pay or secure funding for travel, accommodation and expenses if the summit is in person.
- Expect about seven hours weekly, plus full attendance at the relevant week-long summit.
Eligibility
- Be aged 18–30 on 14 January 2027.
- Be a UK citizen or have lived in the United Kingdom for five years.
- Commit to the full 12-month term, weekly workload and entire summit.
- No specified education, employment sector or background is required.

Application process

- 2Submit the online form by 23:59 GMT on 30 October 2026, including a combined 400-word motivation-and-skills response and a 300-word positive-change example.
- 3Add an unlisted video of no more than two minutes explaining one policy change and why; longer videos are not marked.
- 4FLN assesses submissions against the Essential Criteria and emails outcomes.
