Kyung Hee University (KHU) is a private university in South Korea with a Seoul Campus and a Global Campus. It runs a set of scholarships for international students entering its undergraduate programs, plus two awards for international students already enrolled. There is no separate scholarship form on the scholarship page: offers are announced together with the admission result, so the route in is the international undergraduate admission itself.

Entry awards are tied to admission score, Korean-language proficiency, college of study, or family and refugee status, and the value runs from half a semester’s tuition to four years of full tuition. The entrance fee is excluded from every award.

Benefits & funding

  • SDGs Scholarship: full tuition for the first semester, extended to 100% of tuition for up to four years after admission if the continuation conditions are maintained. Freshmen only.
  • Pioneer Scholarship: full tuition for the first semester, extended to full tuition for up to one year if the holder completes 12 credits in the first semester and keeps a GPA of 2.5 or better.
  • Admission Scholarship A: full tuition for the first semester, for the highest overall score in each college; applicants below 90 points are excluded regardless of ranking.
  • Admission Scholarship B: full tuition for the first semester, for TOPIK Level 6 submitted within the document period.
  • Admission Scholarship C: half tuition for the first semester, for TOPIK Level 5 submitted within the document period.
  • Admission Scholarship D: full tuition for the first semester at the Seoul Campus, for students recommended by the dean of a KHU-affiliated Korean language institute.
  • Admission Scholarship E: full tuition for the first semester at the Global Campus, for students in the top 50% of the admission evaluation who completed more than four semesters at ILE.
  • Admission Scholarship F: full tuition for the first semester, for students admitted to the Department of Korean in the top 50%.
  • Admission Scholarship G: full tuition for the first semester, for students admitted to the College of Engineering, the College of Electronics and Engineering, or the College of Software Convergence in the top 50%; the page lists a four-year full-tuition continuation at a GPA of 3.5 or better for a stated period running to August 2026.
  • Admission Scholarship H: full tuition for the first semester at the Global Campus, for students admitted to the College of International Studies in the top 50%.
  • Academic Encouragement Scholarship: graded payment each semester for honour students selected from those with a GPA of at least 3.0 in the previous semester.
  • TOPIK Encouragement Scholarship: 300,000 KRW per semester for up to three semesters, for enrolled TOPIK holders with a GPA of 2.0 or above and 12 or more credits completed, who did not receive Admission Scholarship B or C.
  • Kyunghee Sibling Scholarship and Kyunghee Alumni Scholarship: half of the first semester’s tuition each, paid as a scholarship rather than a tuition reduction.

Eligibility

  • Open to international applicants of any nationality admitted to a KHU undergraduate program; the scholarship page sets no nationality bar.
  • Admission-linked awards go to freshmen, or to freshmen and transfer students, depending on the award; the SDGs Scholarship and Admission Scholarship G are for freshmen only.
  • The SDGs Scholarship is for applicants currently residing in Korea with refugee status or equivalent granted by the Korean government, or applicants whose nationality is in the DAC list of ODA recipients under the Least Developed Countries, Low Income Countries, or Lower Middle Income Countries and Territories categories.
  • The Pioneer Scholarship is for students from countries with low university enrolment according to higher-education statistics.
  • Admission Scholarships B and C require a TOPIK certificate at Level 6 or Level 5 submitted within the designated document period; English-track applicants are not eligible for the TOPIK-linked awards.
  • Admission Scholarships D, E and H are campus-specific: D applies at the Seoul Campus, E and H at the Global Campus.
  • The Sibling award requires a sibling enrolled in the undergraduate school, including students on leave of absence; the Alumni award requires both parents to be graduates of the undergraduate school.
  • A student selected for more than one scholarship receives only the award with the higher value. Students supported by the GKS program or holding another award covering full tuition are disqualified from certain scholarships.

Application process

    Read the Spring 2027 international undergraduate admission guidelines on KHU’s global admissions site and choose a campus and college.

    Apply online through the international admission portal within one of the two intake rounds.
  3. 3
    Send the required documents by post to the Division of Global Admissions by the postmark date for that round, including a TOPIK certificate if applying for a TOPIK-linked award.

    Sit the practical test on 12 December 2026 if the chosen program requires one in the second round.

    Check the admission result on the announced date; scholarship offers are published with it, with no separate scholarship application.
