National Taiwan University awards this scholarship alongside admission to its undergraduate programs in Taipei. It is for students applying through NTU’s individual admissions route for overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macau students, including eligible applicants of Chinese descent in Hong Kong or Macau who hold foreign nationality.

For 2027 entry, applicants choose from 63 undergraduate programs and request the scholarship within the same online application. Scholarship results are released with admission results, while final admission remains subject to official student-status confirmation.

Benefits & funding

  • Full tuition and miscellaneous-fee subsidy.
  • TWD 8,000 per month as a living allowance.
  • Support continues for the standard study period of the admitted department, provided the recipient meets the renewal condition.
  • The tuition subsidy excludes pass-through charges, thesis-supervision fees, insurance, accommodation and internet costs, credit fees and related expenses.

Eligibility

  • Apply for 2027 undergraduate entry through NTU Admissions for Overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macau Students.
  • Qualify under NTU’s rules as an overseas Chinese student, a Hong Kong or Macau student, or a person of Chinese descent in Hong Kong or Macau who holds foreign nationality.
  • Overseas Chinese applicants must satisfy the applicable Chinese-descent, overseas residence and continuous-residence rules; Hong Kong and Macau applicants must hold permanent-residence status there and satisfy the applicable continuous-residence rules.
  • Applicants to medicine, dentistry or Chinese medicine face an eight-year continuous-residence threshold where the general route uses six years.
  • No work-experience, age or gender requirement is published for the scholarship.

Application process

    Confirm the student-status and department requirements for NTU’s 2027 undergraduate admissions route.

    Create an account in the NTU online application system and select up to five departments.

    Upload the required identity, residence, academic, language and department-review documents, including the required number of recommendation letters for each department.

    Select the scholarship option in the degree-student application system; NTU requires no separate scholarship materials.
