Benefits & funding

• Erasmus Mundus scholarship worth up to €25,800: the full €9,000 participation cost, plus €1,400 a month for travel, visa, installation and living costs, for the whole programme.
• Per academic year: up to three Erasmus Mundus scholarships for students from Programme Countries and up to seven for students from Partner Countries, plus up to three reserved under the EU NDICI instrument and up to one under IPA.
• Consortium scholarships: up to eight per academic year, each covering the €9,000 tuition in full, with no monthly allowance.
• Associated Partners scholarships are listed as a third type, offered for the cohorts from 2022/2023 to 2027/2028.
• Participation costs cover every compulsory programme activity, health insurance, and each host university registration and student service fee.
• Room, board, travel and other living expenses are not covered.
• Health insurance applies to every enrolled student, scholarship holder or self-funded.
• Self-funded students pay €9,000 for the programme.
• Graduates receive a master degree from each of the two universities where they completed at least 30 ECTS.

Eligibility

• At least 240 ECTS of completed higher education in civil engineering, industrial or systems engineering, materials engineering, environmental engineering or a related field.
• Related fields named on the site also include mechanical, aeronautical and polymers engineering.
• Applicants holding 300 ECTS at master level also qualify, and some mobility tracks require that level.
• Students expecting to graduate before 31 July may apply conditionally, on condition the diploma arrives by that date.
• Proof of English: TOEFL 525 paper-based or 72 internet-based, IELTS 6.5, CEFR B2, Cambridge English Scale 180 or Duolingo 105, taken within the last three years.
• Open to applicants of any nationality; the consortium states there are no exclusions by nationality or citizenship.
• Applicants from outside the EU and Schengen area need a valid passport matching the nationality they declare when applying.
• Applicants with more than one nationality must declare which one counts for scholarship purposes.
• A previous Erasmus Mundus master enrolment is allowed only if it ended before the 2019/2020 academic year.

Application process

   Apply online through the system linked from the Applications page; applications by email or post are refused.

   Prepare the motivation letter and CV in English, degree certificates and transcripts, the English certificate, work experience certificates and two recommendation letters from faculty or supervisors.

   Give working email addresses for both referees: the platform writes to them directly, and the application stays incomplete until they return the online form.

   First-call applicants also upload proof of residence issued within the 12 months before the deadline.

   Documents in English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish or French need no translation; any other language needs an official English translation.

   Submit before the call deadline — in the 2026/2027 cycle, 30 January, 15 April and 15 May, all at 23:59 UTC.

   The consortium first evaluates the academic record, then interviews the 50 to 70 best-ranked pre-selected candidates by videoconference.

   Pay the €250 deposit to confirm the place; it is refunded at registration.
