WOCC is a two-year, 120 ECTS joint master in the social sciences of work and employment, coordinated by Université de Lille and co-funded by the European Union as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master.
Six universities run it together: Lille, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Sapienza Università di Roma, Université Laval and Universidad de Buenos Aires. Teaching runs in French, English and Spanish.
Semesters one and four take place in Lille, semesters two and three at two partner universities in two other countries, along one of three specialisations: work, health and environment; global value chains, production models and industrial relations; or labour regulation and the management of sustainable, inclusive organisations. The fourth semester includes a mandatory professional or research internship with approximately two months of fieldwork. The first cohort starts in September 2026, and graduates hold a diploma from each university where they studied.
Benefits & funding
- Erasmus Mundus scholarships pay €1,400 per month for 24 months, meant to cover tuition, living costs and travel.
- About 20 students in each cohort of 30 hold one, awarded on the application file with no separate scholarship form.
- Scholarship holders pay no tuition at any of the three universities on their mobility path.
- Scholarship holders are also exempt from the French CVEC student contribution and are reimbursed if they have paid it.
- Students without a scholarship pay €2,000 in total, covering enrolment at all three universities.
- The consortium states it may cover part of a student’s registration costs on request.
- Every graduate receives the WOCC degree plus a diploma from each partner university attended.
