The Blavatnik Scholarship for Greece pays for a Greek national to take the Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government. The School’s funding page lists it as the Greek MPP Scholarship. It was announced on 1 December 2025 and is backed by Sir Leonard Blavatnik, the School’s founding donor.
The MPP is a one-year, full-time degree taught in Oxford, with induction in September. The award targets future public leaders from Greece who show curiosity, leadership potential and the drive to make a difference.
There is no separate scholarship application. Offer-holders complete the School’s scholarship questionnaire, and the School alone makes both the admission and the funding decision.
Benefits & funding
- Full MPP course fees plus a living stipend.
- The School lists the MPP fee at £54,650 a year for 2026–27 entry, the same for Home and Overseas students; the 2027–28 fee is not yet shown on the page.
- The funding page describes the award as one full MPP scholarship; it does not say how many are made each year.
Eligibility
- Greek nationals.
- An offer of a place on the Oxford MPP (2027–28 entry) is required; funding is considered only for offer-holders.
- The School usually expects a first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree in any subject; applicants with a GPA below 3.7 are still assessed holistically.
- No minimum work experience is set; most successful applicants bring at least a year or two, ideally with public-service impact.
- Proof of English proficiency is required unless an exemption applies, such as at least three years of full-time higher education in English in a majority English-speaking country recognised by UK Visas and Immigration, completed within about two years of the course start.
- No age limit; past MPP students have ranged from 21 to over 50.
