Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights (ASEMHRS) — Training

Benefits & funding

• Accommodation is covered for the duration of the Seminar and training programme.
• Meals are covered according to the programme.
• Civil society representatives additionally receive economy-class point-to-point airfare to and from Ulaanbaatar, reimbursed up to a maximum ceiling.
• The published page does not state that airfare is covered for every participant and does not list a cash stipend.

Eligibility

• The training is open only to selected participants in the 24th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights; Seminar applicants must indicate their interest on the application form.
• Applicants must be citizens of an ASEM partner country: Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mongolia, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, UK, or Vietnam.
• Working proficiency in English is required.
• The Seminar targets government representatives, national human rights institutions and ombuds offices, civil society and human rights practitioners, academics, researchers, legal experts, and international or regional organisations; relevant private-sector representatives are also welcomed.
• Government representatives are nominated by ASEM partners. Relevant civil society participants may be selected through the call or by direct invitation.
• The published project page states no degree, minimum experience, age, gender, or residency requirement.

Application process

   Review the 24th Seminar project page and confirm citizenship, English proficiency, and professional relevance.

   Complete the official Seminar application form by 31 August 2026 at 23:59 Singapore time.

   Indicate interest in the follow-up capacity-building programme directly on the application form.

   After the initial screening and the application deadline, wait for ASEF to share further training details with eligible Seminar applicants.
