The Internet Society Fellowship Program is a 10-month leadership program in three tracks — Internet Policy and Mobilization, Internet Connectivity, and Internet Safety and Security — each split into two sub-tracks.
Applicants first complete self-paced online pre-fellowship training (about 30 hours) and build a project plan. Selected fellows then run a six-month mentored project in their own community and attend a track-related Internet event.
Benefits & funding
- A project stipend of up to US$5,000 for justified direct project costs, released once the budget is approved; it cannot pay salaries or consulting fees.
- Travel support to a global or regional Internet event (e.g. IGF, AfPIF, NDSS Symposium).
- A dedicated mentor matched to your sub-track, plus expert sessions.
- Entry to the Internet Society Alumni Network.
Eligibility
- Open to anyone; no nationality, residence, age or degree requirement is stated.
- You must first finish all required pre-fellowship training modules for one chosen track and sub-track.
