Benefits & funding

• Erasmus Mundus scholarship: full tuition including the deposit, full insurance cover, and a monthly subsistence allowance for the whole programme.
• Allowance option one: €1,275 a month across the two years, plus three advance payments of €1,000 towards visa, travel and installation costs.
• Allowance option two: €1,400 a month across the two years, with no separate travel or installation payment.
• 60 regular scholarships are offered over the programme’s four editions, plus up to 20 targeted scholarships for Erasmus+ Regions 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
• Self-funded tuition: £9,654 or €11,360 a year for UK, EU and Programme Country students; £20,700 or €24,360 a year for all other countries.
• A £2,000 deposit falls due when an offer is accepted; the scholarship covers it.
• The week-long summer school at the end of year one sits inside the fee, with housing and a modest travel subsidy, and rotates between partner cities.
• Optional credit-bearing placements: a consultancy project in Barcelona, a 5 ECTS research internship of 18 working days in Rotterdam, and the Consultandes consultancy course at Los Andes.

Eligibility

• Open to applicants of any nationality; no residency requirement to apply.
• A UK 2:1 honours degree, or the country equivalent judged against the University of Glasgow’s international qualification tables.
• English proof for non-native speakers: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no subtest below 6.0, or TOEFL 92 overall with Reading 22, Listening 20, Speaking 23, Writing 21 for tests taken from 21 January 2026.
• No age limit and no stated work-experience requirement; research and professional experience are scored inside the 20% other criterion.
• The scholarship additionally needs a conditional or unconditional offer from the University of Glasgow, and is closed to anyone who has already held an EMJM scholarship.
• Regular scholarships are capped at 6 per nationality across the four editions; the targeted awards carry no such cap.
• One study track per application. Track H is not recruiting for the 2027 intake.

Application process

   Read the entry requirements and pick exactly one study track.

   Complete either the scholarship or the self-funding application form, then apply through the University of Glasgow online system — submissions by email are refused.

   Attach a CV (Europass preferred), a personal statement of up to 1,200 words, official transcripts and degree certificates for every level of study in the original language with an official English translation, proof of English, and a colour scan of the passport photo page.

   Supply two references on institutional letterhead, dated within the last 24 months, signed electronically or in ink.

   Scholarship applications are ranked by the consortium, with results sent in April.

   Self-funded applications are read on a rolling basis until the track’s own deadline.

   Accept the offer and clear the deposit; enrolment follows only once every required document has arrived.
