The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship supports eligible international students undertaking a full-time master’s programme in Wales. It is offered by the Global Wales Programme, a partnership involving the Welsh Government, Universities Wales, the British Council and HEFCW, with funding from Taith.

Applicants first apply to an eligible postgraduate course at a Welsh university, then submit a separate scholarship application. The latest official pages still show the 2024 round as closed and do not give a date for a later cycle.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be from Vietnam, India, the United States, Canada or a European Union member country.
  • Applicants from outside those countries are not considered.
  • Applicants must first apply for an eligible full-time postgraduate programme at a university in Wales.
  • As this is a master’s scholarship, applicants are expected to hold the prior qualification required for admission to their chosen course.

Application process

    Select an eligible full-time master’s programme at a participating university in Wales.
  2. 2
    Apply to the university for a place on that programme.
  3. 3
    Prepare responses of no more than 250 words each on study motivation, relevant experience and skills, and how the applicant would promote Wales as a study destination.

    Submit the separate scholarship form; applicants may submit up to three scholarship applications if they have applied to each corresponding course and university.
  5. 5
    Review everything before submission because the form cannot be saved partway through or edited after submission.
