National Taiwan University offers this scholarship to international applicants entering its bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in Taipei. Applicants request it inside the degree application, with no separate scholarship file.
Admission and scholarship are decided separately: one does not guarantee the other. The first round for September 2027 entry is open now; a second round opens December 1, 2026.
Benefits & funding
- Tuition and miscellaneous fees waived up to TWD 100,000 per semester.
- Living stipend of TWD 8,000 a month.
- May continue for the program’s standard length while the yearly overall GPA stays at 3.38 or above.
- Not covered: pass-through charges, thesis-advising and credit fees, insurance, housing and internet.
Eligibility
- New international applicants to NTU bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral programs.
- Must qualify as an international student: hold only a foreign nationality, or meet the extra conditions for dual or former R.O.C. nationals and for foreign nationals with Hong Kong or Macao permanent residency (dual nationals and Hong Kong or Macao residents never registered in a Taiwan household, former nationals renounced at least eight years before; all with at least six years’ continuous residence overseas, eight for medicine, dentistry or Chinese medicine).
- Anyone who has studied in Taiwan as an overseas Chinese student cannot use this route.
- Taiwan Scholarship awardees should not apply.
