FAMEAIS is a 120 ECTS Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in advanced materials, artificial intelligence and sustainability. Its consortium brings together seven universities in France, Germany, Belgium and Portugal.
Students begin the first year at Grenoble INP-UGA or TU Darmstadt, then move to a partner university for second-year specialisation. The English-taught programme awards double master’s degrees in Materials Science and combines physics, chemistry, AI, sustainability, internships and a master’s thesis.
Benefits & funding
- Erasmus Mundus scholarship holders have programme fees covered and receive EUR 1,400 per month for up to 24 months.
- Self-funded students pay EUR 4,000 per year if they are from the EU or an associated country, and EUR 9,000 per year otherwise.
- The two-year programme carries 120 ECTS and awards double master’s degrees in Materials Science.
Eligibility
- Applicants from European and non-European countries may apply.
- Applicants must hold a relevant first-cycle degree in science, technology or engineering; final-year undergraduates may receive conditional admission if the degree is awarded before enrolment.
- Applicants must provide an accepted English test unless they meet a published exemption; minimum scores include IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 5.5 writing, TOEFL iBT 92 with 22 writing, or PTE Academic 59 with 50 writing.
- Two referees and the mandatory signed reference forms are required.
- Relevant professional or research experience is appreciated but is not a hard requirement.
- The Erasmus Mundus scholarship route is unavailable to students who previously received Erasmus Mundus funding; the self-funded route remains separate.
