European Master Course in Advanced Structural Analysis and Design using Composite Materials

FRP++ is the European Master Course in Advanced Structural Analysis and Design using Composite Materials, delivered by a consortium led across five European higher-education institutions. The one-academic-year, 60-ECTS course covers composite materials, manufacturing, mechanics, modelling, structural design, inspection, repair, and sustainability.

Students complete coursework in one partner location and a dissertation in another, with English as the teaching and examination language. The 2026/27 edition starts on October 1, 2026; its three application calls are closed.

Benefits & funding

Erasmus Mundus scholarships cover the €9,000 tuition fee and provide €1,400 per month for travel, visa, installation, and subsistence costs, up to €25,800 in total.
Consortium funding includes up to two €9,000 tuition scholarships, three €6,500 awards, and six €4,500 awards per academic year.
Self-funded students pay €9,000 tuition; living, housing, and travel costs are not included.
The consortium funds the compulsory Integration Week; FRP++ Workshop participation is physically mandatory for Erasmus Mundus scholarship holders, while other students may participate virtually.

Eligibility

Applications are open to all nationalities, with no citizenship exclusion.
Applicants need a degree in civil, mechanical, industrial, materials, aeronautical, polymers engineering, or a related field.
A 240-ECTS bachelor’s degree is accepted generally; mobility tracks including the University of Naples Federico II require bachelor’s and/or master’s studies totalling 300 ECTS.
Final-year students may apply if they expect to graduate by July 31, 2026, with admission conditional on timely diploma receipt.
English proficiency is required; accepted evidence includes TOEFL, IELTS, CEFR, Duolingo, previous English-medium study, or another recognized certificate.

Application process

Apply through the FRP++ online form during one of the published calls; use the first call to seek Erasmus Mundus or the main Consortium scholarships.

Submit a 1,500–3,500-character motivation letter, European-format CV, degrees, transcripts with grades and course syllabi, English evidence, two recommendation letters, and any relevant professional evidence.

For the first call, add proof of residence issued within the 12 months before the deadline.

The consortium evaluates the academic file, then interviews the best-ranked preselected applicants by videoconference.

If selected, confirm enrolment with the required deposit; at least €250 is retained if the student later does not enrol.
