Erasmus Mundus Joint Master: Social Psychology of Transformation – Understanding and Mastering Social Change

Benefits & funding

• Up to 18 Erasmus Mundus scholarships were offered for the 2026/27 cohort, open to students from EU and non-EU countries alike.
• Scholarship holders receive €1,400 a month for up to 24 months, or €2,400 up front for travel and installation followed by €1,300 a month for 24 months.
• The participation fee — tuition plus compulsory health, travel and liability insurance — and administrative fees are waived for scholarship holders.
• Visa fees, residence-permit fees and the Uni-Assist evaluation fee are reimbursed.
• Up to 14 NDICI scholarships run across three cohorts, 4–5 per cohort, for students from the EU neighbourhood region.
• Diversity and inclusion allowances pay for accommodations, travel assistance, adaptive materials, equipment or personal support where a student needs them.
• Self-funded places cost €19,200 over the two years for EU citizens (€800 a month) and €28,800 for non-EU citizens (€1,200 a month), payable in full, yearly or by semester.
• All students get health insurance valid in every study destination, dorm places at Padua and ISCTE, biweekly online mentoring on study, internship and mental health, and free monthly counselling.

Eligibility

• A bachelor’s degree in psychology recognised by the EU as a first-cycle degree, carrying 100 ECTS specifically in psychology.
• Applicants still finishing that degree may apply with a certificate of enrolment, a transcript of records and a certificate of candidacy for graduation.
• English at C1 level, proved by a proctored IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo or Cambridge CAE result, or by a medium-of-instruction certificate for a degree taught entirely in English.
• A Uni-Assist evaluation report issued for SPOT and for the intake applied to; reports for other programmes or semesters are refused.
• Applicants from China, India or Vietnam must add an APS certificate.
• Holders of a non-EU degree should check recognition with the German Central Office for Foreign Education.
• Open to every nationality, with no age limit and no work-experience requirement. On the scholarship side, at most two students per country are funded in one academic year, and anyone who has already held an Erasmus Mundus or NDICI scholarship cannot win another.
• SPOT is full-time; applicants who are employed must document the employment.

Application process

   Order a SPOT-specific Uni-Assist evaluation report early — Uni-Assist closes weeks before the portal does.

   Create an applicant account on the SPOT portal hosted by the University of Porto and fill in the SPOT application form; applications by email are not accepted.

   Upload the Uni-Assist report, diploma and diploma supplement with grades and English translations, English language proof, CV, passport copy, proof of residency where nationality and country of residence differ, proof of current enrolment and employment documents where they apply.

   The coordination team checks eligibility within about two months of the deadline.

   At least two academic coordinators from different partner universities score each shortlisted file out of 100 points.

   The Governing Board approves the ranking and tells applicants whether they have a scholarship, a reserve-list place or a self-funded admission.
