EU4M is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Mechatronic Engineering run by four universities: Universidad de Oviedo in Spain (coordinator), Hochschule Karlsruhe in Germany, SUPMICROTECH-ENSMM in Besançon, France, and Högskolan i Skövde in Sweden.

The 120-ECTS, four-semester programme spends year one at one partner and year two at least one other; each campus teaches in its own language. EU co-funding covers the 2025–2027 to 2028–2030 intakes, and the 2027–2029 call is open now.

Benefits & funding

  • Full scholarship: tuition, full insurance and other mandatory participation costs, plus €1,400 a month for the programme, up to 24 months.
  • Fee-waiver scholarship: tuition only, no monthly allowance.
  • Self-paying: €4,500 per semester for non-European students (€18,000 in total) and €2,250 per semester for European students (€9,000), in four instalments.

Eligibility

  • A 180-ECTS bachelor or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering, mechatronics, automotive/aerospace, sensor technologies or a related engineering subject; final-year students can apply for a conditional offer.
  • At least B1 (B2 recommended) in the teaching language of the first-year country and A2 in that of the second: Spanish (Oviedo), German (Karlsruhe), French (Besançon), English (Skövde).
  • Open to European and non-European students of any nationality.
  • Past Erasmus Mundus scholarship holders cannot receive another.
  • Scholars must study in at least two programme countries other than their country of residence.

Application process

    Register and submit the online form with digital attachments at emjmdeu4m.em.uniovi.es.

    Submit by 15 January 2027 to be considered for a scholarship, or by 15 May 2027 as a self-paying applicant.

    If selected, post validated hard copies of the documents by the assigned deadline.
