The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Global Forestry is a 120-ECTS programme coordinated by the University of Copenhagen with four partner universities. It combines ecology, economics, governance and livelihoods to address forest conservation and sustainable development.
Students begin in Copenhagen, spend their second semester in Dresden or Padua, and choose one of five partner universities for their second-year specialisation and thesis. The programme requires study at two or three consortium universities and awards multiple degrees according to the mobility track.
Benefits & funding
- The strongest candidates can receive an Erasmus Mundus scholarship of €1,400 per month for the two-year programme.
- The shared three-week Global Forestry field course in a middle- or low-income country is fully financed.
- Students study at multiple European universities and earn two or three degrees according to their mobility track.
Eligibility
- Applicants need a relevant bachelor’s or professional bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification accepted after individual assessment.
- Other bachelor’s degrees can qualify with 30 ECTS in forestry, biology, geography, economics, sociology or political science.
- English proficiency must be documented with IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 83, or Cambridge Advanced English or Proficiency at C1 or C2.
- Applicants of all nationalities can apply; the 2025–26 cycle used separate non-EU and EU application windows.
