MAEH is a two-year, in-person Erasmus Mundus joint master coordinated by the University of Algarve with the University of Lodz, Technische Hochschule Lübeck, and the University of Antwerp. It combines ecohydrology, water engineering, and integrated water management across four European study locations.
The official programme site says the 2026/27 cohort will not run because too few selected self-funded candidates met the launch threshold. This record is therefore retained as an annual programme between cycles, not as a currently open intake.
Benefits & funding
- The 2025/26 intake offered limited MAEH support scholarships to selected candidates; it did not offer Erasmus Mundus scholarships.
- The two-year curriculum covers four semesters, including study components in Portugal, Germany, and Belgium, field training linked to Poland, and a final thesis.
- A self-funded route was available, but the programme has not published funding for a future intake.
Eligibility
- Applicants need a three-year, 180-ECTS bachelor’s degree in natural science or engineering; related scientific fields may be considered according to programme fit and the applicant’s CV.
- Final-year bachelor’s students may apply after completing two years and 120 ECTS, with final admission conditional on completing the degree.
- English proof requires TOEFL 550 on paper or 80 online, or IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each component.
- No nationality, residency, age, or gender exclusion is published; under-represented gender is only a tie-break preference between equally qualified candidates.
