Changemakers for Equality is a year-long cohort programme run by ChangemakerXchange, an international non-profit, with support from the Julius Baer Foundation. It identifies, connects and supports young changemakers aged 18 to 35 who lead community-centred solutions to the structural drivers of inequality. Participants join a global peer community, receive customised capacity building, gather at a five-day in-person summit, and can access seed funding for cross-border collaboration. The programme runs region by region: its first cohort recruited across Asia, including China, for the May 2026 to May 2027 cycle, and later cohorts are planned for Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.

Eligibility

  • Aged 18 to 35.
  • A founder, co-founder, leader or other influential decision-maker within an active social or environmental venture.
  • Working on tangible, community-centred solutions to inequality.
  • A good level of understanding and ability to express oneself in English.
  • Eligibility is set per regional cohort. The Asia cohort (2026) was open to applicants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Upcoming cohorts for Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America will publish their own country lists.
  • No degree requirement.

Application process

    Complete and submit the online application before the cohort deadline.

    Each application is reviewed by at least two team members.

    Around 40–45 candidates are shortlisted.
  4. 4
    Shortlisted applicants have a short (30–45 minute) informal interview online.

    A final cohort of about 15 participants is selected, and all candidates are notified.
