The AGFUND Development Programme is a pilot run by The Diana Award and made possible by AGFUND. It supports Diana Award Recipients based in Africa who are already leading a project, campaign, initiative or organisation, helping them grow as changemakers over six months.

The programme is delivered entirely online via Microsoft Teams and combines live learning, expert-led workshops and one-to-one support. Up to 25 young leaders join this first cohort, with a second cohort expected in January 2027.

Benefits & funding

  • Completely free to join.
  • Six-month virtual programme with a time commitment of at least 6 hours per month.
  • Live learning sessions (typically 90–120 minutes) and expert partner-led workshops.
  • Two 1:1 development support sessions.
  • Topics include leadership and sustainable change, time and energy management, wellbeing and resilience, measuring and demonstrating impact, strategic storytelling and visibility, partnerships and collaboration, funding and sustainability, and scaling impact.
  • Connection to a community of Diana Award Recipients across Africa.

Eligibility

  • Must be a Diana Award Recipient.
  • Must be based in Africa.
  • Aged between 16 and 25 at the start of the programme.
  • Actively leading or involved in a social-action project, initiative, campaign or organisation.
  • Able to commit to the full six-month virtual programme.
