WBG Pioneers is the World Bank Group’s premier internship program, giving students structured, hands-on experience on real development projects. Interns join teams across economics, human development, agriculture, environment, engineering, urban planning, private-sector development, and corporate functions such as IT, finance, and communications. Placements sit at the Washington, DC headquarters (the majority of roles), at country offices around the world (from Nairobi and Cairo to Hanoi, Tashkent, and Kyiv), and in a selection of remote or hybrid positions. The program runs in two cycles a year, and applicants may apply to a maximum of three positions per cycle.
