The University of Warwick Doctoral College offers up to 30 Faculty Chancellors and up to 12 Interdisciplinary Chancellors scholarships for doctoral study starting in October 2027.
One scholarship application covers both, alongside Warwick’s other PGR streams. Projects in any field are welcome; the interdisciplinary route needs a project spanning disciplines and tied to a Warwick Research Spotlight or Research Centre.
Benefits & funding
- Full academic fees, at the UK or international rate.
- Tax-free stipend at the UKRI rate for 3.5 years (Warwick estimates £21,830 for 2027–28, not confirmed).
- A £5,000 Research Training and Support Grant.
- Part-time study at 60% with a longer funding period, subject to visa rules; paid family and medical leave.
- Eligible international scholars may apply for help with UK visa and immigration costs.
Eligibility
- Applying for a Warwick PhD, MPhil/PhD, EngD or the PhD stage of a 1+3 or 2+4 course, starting October 2027; awards cannot be deferred.
- Any nationality or fee status; current postgraduate research students are not eligible.
- Research courses generally ask for at least a UK upper-second honours degree or equivalent.
- Interdisciplinary route: an interdisciplinary project aligned to a Research Spotlight or Research Centre.
- A scholarship is offered only with an admission offer.
