Official Page

The V20 Climate Prosperity Fellowship is run by the CVF-V20 — the Climate Vulnerable Forum and its Vulnerable Twenty Group of finance ministers — in partnership with the Boston University Global Development Policy Center. Now recruiting its fourth cohort for 2026-2027, it selects 16 to 20 mid- to senior-level officials from CVF-V20 member governments and builds their capacity to design climate-prosperity strategies, engage in international financial architecture reform, and represent vulnerable economies in global finance forums. Learning runs mostly online through weekly webinars and expert sessions, anchored by two one-week in-person residencies. Fellows produce a capstone project and join a standing network of V20 Climate Prosperity Fellows.

Benefits & funding

  • Year-long structured curriculum: weekly webinars, expert-led discussions, and immersive technical exercises on climate finance and financial-architecture reform.
  • Two one-week in-person residencies (planned for January 2027 and October 2027; venues to be confirmed).
  • Optional debt-sustainability training track for interested fellows.
  • Opportunities to contribute to the V20 Senior Officials Meeting and to attend the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings.
  • Membership in the ongoing V20 Climate Prosperity Fellows network.
  • The call does not publish whether travel, accommodation, or a stipend for the residencies are covered; participation itself carries no fee.

Eligibility

  • Citizen of a CVF-V20 member country (68 members across Africa, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean).
  • Serving official with five to ten years of mid- to senior-level experience in international affairs, public policy, and/or development.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Able and willing to travel abroad for in-person meetings and to attend weekly virtual sessions throughout the fellowship.
  • Committed to sharing knowledge with the national government and stakeholders after the fellowship.
  • Optional: applicants wanting the debt-sustainability track should indicate this and commit to extra weekly sessions; Excel skills and macroeconomic familiarity are recommended.
