The International Master’s Scholarships Program is a merit award run by Université Paris-Saclay — one of France’s leading research universities, located on the Saclay plateau south of Paris — to attract top international students into its master’s programmes. Laureates relocate to France to study a one- or two-year master’s (M1 and/or M2) in any academic field, while receiving an annual living stipend and a travel/visa allowance. Selection is handled jointly by each master’s programme’s coordinators and a central jury, so applicants must first be admitted to a Paris-Saclay master’s before being considered for the scholarship.
Benefits & funding
- €10,000 per year, paid in monthly instalments from September to June; the exact amount varies by the student’s country of origin.
- A yearly flat fee of up to €900 to support travel and visa costs.
- Automatic renewal for the second year (M2) if an M1 laureate progresses to M2 at the university.
- Note: the amount is reduced during months spent abroad or on internships outside university labs; no advance payment is made — funds are released only after arrival and registration in France.
Eligibility
- Students of foreign (non-French) nationality only.
- First-time enrolment in France — applicants must not have previously registered at a French institution (exceptions: prior exchange programmes, Erasmus Mundus joint degrees that did not award a French credential, internships, and language programmes).
- Under 30 years of age during the year of application.
- Applying to (or admitted to) an M1 or M2 master’s programme at Université Paris-Saclay; all academic fields are eligible except vocational (professional) programmes.
- Applicants must hold, or be completing, a Bachelor’s degree that gives access to the chosen master’s.
- Cannot receive other funding above €600 per month, and cannot be combined with the France Excellence Eiffel, France Excellence Europa, or Erasmus Mundus scholarships.
