UNESCO-UNEVOC runs this global photography competition to show how technical and vocational education and training equips young people for the future. Amateur and professional photographers may submit original images across four themes: inclusion, sustainability, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and innovation.

Entries are submitted remotely by email, and three cash prizes are awarded. There is no travel or in-person component.

Benefits & funding

  • First prize: USD 750.
  • Second prize: USD 500.
  • Third prize: USD 350.
  • Winners also receive an official certificate, publication on the UNESCO-UNEVOC Flickr account and promotion through UNESCO-UNEVOC social media.
  • Entrants should note that UNESCO-UNEVOC states that submitted photographs become its property and may be used in later publications, campaigns and promotional materials.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Each applicant must own or hold the copyright to every submitted photograph.
  • Both amateur and professional photographers may enter.
  • No nationality, residency, gender, education or work-experience restriction is stated.
  • Each entrant may submit no more than one photograph in each category, for a maximum of four entries.

Application process

    Choose one or more of the four competition categories and prepare no more than one entry per category.
  2. 2
    For each entry, prepare a JPEG image with at least 3,000 pixels on the longest side at 300 DPI/PPI, a title, a description of no more than 75 words, and the place and date the image was taken. Obtain consent from identifiable people, disclose minor edits, and do not use AI-generated or AI-extended imagery, collages, watermarks, logos, signatures or overlays.

    Download, complete and sign the submission form, including the category for each photograph.

    Email the form and photograph files to unevoc.skills(at)unesco.org with the entrant’s last name followed by 「SAPC26 Submission」 in the subject line. Large files may be shared through a publicly accessible cloud link that requires no sign-in or permission request.
