Official Page

Özyeğin University’s 2026 project places six students on campus in Istanbul to study migration through technology, climate change, or media representation. The four-week program combines sessions from the IR 314 International Migration course with workshops, seminars, research meetings, and weekly feedback.

Participants conduct supervised secondary research using public academic, policy, and media sources rather than interviewing vulnerable populations. Each two-person track produces research and digital outputs such as a policy brief, digital map, analytical video, or exhibition material.

Benefits & funding

  • Summer accommodation and lunch are provided, along with laboratory access, technical training, and academic guidance.
  • Participants receive close mentoring within a six-person cohort and join course sessions, workshops, seminars, and research meetings.
  • The university describes the placement as a voluntary internship and does not publish a salary, cash stipend, travel allowance, or visa support.

Eligibility

  • High school students and students enrolled in undergraduate programs may participate.
  • Applicants must have excellent English and Turkish, basic digital skills, and a strong interest in global affairs, technology, or environmental issues.
  • Applicants must be motivated for academic learning and willing to read and discuss academic texts.
  • Students enrolled outside Turkey may apply; no nationality or residency restriction is published.
