The Tilburg University Waiver reduces the institutional tuition fee for eligible international students entering a master’s program in Tilburg. It covers regular non-Research one-year master’s programs, plus the two-year Master in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence and its named tracks.
The award is for the September intake only, and Tilburg University offers 21 waivers each year. The 2026 application form is closed after the April 1 deadline.
Benefits & funding
- The waiver reduces the institutional tuition fee by 50%.
- There are 21 awards for the 2026–2027 academic year: six each for Tilburg School of Economics and Management, Tilburg Law School, and Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences; two for Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences; and one for Tilburg School of Catholic Theology.
- Recipients must pay the remaining 50% of tuition, the immigration fee, and their living costs, and must satisfy Dutch immigration financial-proof rules.
- The award cannot be deferred; withdrawal or deferral cancels it.
Eligibility
- Applicants must hold a non-EEA nationality and be applying for their first master’s program at Tilburg University.
- The most recent degree must have been, or be due to be, completed before the master’s starts in one of these countries or territories: Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Liberia, Mauritania, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Pakistan, Palestine, Peru, Philippines, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Taiwan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Türkiye, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
- Applicants must apply directly to an eligible regular one-year master’s program for September 2026; Research Master’s and Pre-Master’s programs are excluded. The two-year Master in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence and its named tracks are exceptions and remain eligible.
- Both the complete master’s application and the waiver form were due April 1, 2026.
- Applicants must not hold another scholarship or waiver covering any part of tuition.
- Only conditionally or unconditionally admitted applicants enter the draw, and the waiver takes effect only after unconditional admission.
