The Winter School is an annual, two-week academic programme run by Sciences Po on its central Paris campus. University students and graduates study international relations and global governance in English. Participants choose Rethinking International Relations or Governing Global Challenges, with an optional climate-diplomacy negotiation workshop.

The 2027 session runs from 18 to 29 January and combines lectures with small-group methodology or tutorial sessions.

Benefits & funding

  • Each track provides 24 hours of teaching; the optional negotiation workshop adds 12 hours and 2 ECTS credits.
  • Tuition is €1,950 for either track and includes classes and course materials.
  • The optional workshop costs €500, and a non-refundable €50 application fee is due at submission.
  • Sciences Po offers no Winter School scholarships, so participants must fund tuition and other costs themselves or seek external support.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be current university students or graduates; no nationality, residence, gender, age, or work-experience restriction is stated.
  • Courses are taught in English, and applicants must demonstrate advanced B2–C1 proficiency through an accepted recent test, qualifying English-medium study, or the free programme assessment.
  • Governing Global Challenges additionally requires prior study in international affairs, evidenced on a transcript or diploma.
