The IPOET Scholarships support prospective tuition-fee-paying students entering a Chalmers master’s programme. Chalmers University of Technology administers the award for study in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Recipients study in person and receive a tuition reduction rather than a living-cost grant. The 2026 cycle is closed; the scholarship follows the annual master’s admissions round.
Benefits & funding
- The scholarship reduces tuition fees by 75% for up to 120 credits of the named master’s programme, normally two years.
- Particularly strong recipients who complete 60 credits in the first year with a high weighted average may receive an 85% reduction for the second year; the additional reduction appears as a 95% reduction on the fourth-semester invoice.
- To retain the scholarship for the following academic year, recipients must pass at least 30 credits during the first three study periods, based on results registered by 15 May.
- The official materials do not state a separate living-cost allowance.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be prospective students liable to pay tuition fees and must apply before beginning their first academic year at Chalmers; current students cannot apply.
- Applicants must submit a Chalmers master’s application and satisfy that programme’s general, specific, and English-language requirements.
- The general master’s requirement is a degree equivalent to a Swedish bachelor’s degree of at least three years or 180 credits in science, engineering, technology, or architecture.
- Eligibility depends on tuition-fee liability rather than one fixed nationality or residency list; the official scholarship pages state no age, gender, or work-experience requirement.
