The 2026 program was the fourth international edition organized by the Department of Mental Health Thailand in collaboration with the World Health Organization. It combined online training from 22 June to 10 July with onsite training in Bangkok from 13 to 17 July.
Participants studied mental-health systems, psychiatric services and community care through lectures, case discussions and study visits. Online follow-up sessions are planned approximately six and twelve months after the training.
Benefits & funding
- No training or participation fee.
- Shared twin-room accommodation was provided for seven nights, from 12 to 18 July 2026.
- Lunch and coffee breaks were provided on training days.
- Airport transfers between Suvarnabhumi Airport and the hotel were provided on the designated arrival and departure dates.
- Participants or their sponsors remained responsible for international airfare, visas, insurance, dinners, personal costs and other unspecified expenses.
Eligibility
- Applicants needed either at least one year of mental-health-related work experience or responsibility for mental-health programs or services.
- Applicants needed good English communication skills, good physical health and availability for at least 80% of training activities.
- The official criteria did not specify a degree, nationality, residency, age or gender restriction.
- Onsite participants needed a passport valid for at least six months and an appropriate Thai visa where required.
