Team up for Climate! — Entrepreneurship

Team up for Climate! is the student innovation challenge of the Egis Foundation, the corporate foundation of the French engineering and consulting group Egis. The Foundation works only on fighting climate change and supporting a fair ecological transition, and has run this challenge since 2022.

Teams of two to four students pick one place they know well, a neighbourhood, campus, town or region, and design a climate adaptation project for it. Everything is submitted through the Foundation online challenge platform. The 2026 edition, the fifth since the first in January 2022, was themed on adapting and living together in the face of climate risks, with each project entered in one of three categories: inform and raise awareness, anticipate and repair, or protect.

Fifteen teams pass the written round into a mentoring phase with Egis professionals, then present to a jury of internal and external members. Three teams share 17,000 euros of prize money, and the Foundation reports hundreds of students from more than 70 nationalities entering each year. The 2026 cycle closed on 28 March 2026; the challenge runs annually and the next edition is expected around the end of 2026.

Benefits & funding

First prize: 4,000 euros per team, paid pro rata to each member, plus a study trip to Paris with meetings, coaching from Makesense on financial planning, and a place in an art project exhibited at the Photoclimat festival in 2027.
Second prize: 3,000 euros per team, pro rata, with the same Makesense coaching and Photoclimat participation.
Third prize: 2,000 euros per team, pro rata, awarded by a vote of Egis employees, with coaching on project management.
Boost prize: up to 5,000 euros more for the first-place team and up to 3,000 euros for the second, released six to eight months later to teams that have held at least three meetings with stakeholders and carried out at least two activities of their project.
Total prize money is 17,000 euros.
Each team selected for the second round is guided by Egis mentors while it develops the project for the jury.
Entering costs nothing.

Eligibility

Teams of two to four people; every member accepts the rules individually on the platform.
Members must be students enrolled in 2025-2026, proven with a certificate of enrolment, or graduates from January 2024 onwards, proven with a dated diploma. Student cards and admission letters are not accepted.
Applicants under 18 may take part with a parental consent form signed through the platform.
Open to any country and any field of study; the challenge is void only where it is prohibited or restricted by law.
A student may take part in the challenge only once.
Interns and apprentices of Egis subsidiaries may enter, but may make up no more than half of a team.
All answers, attachments and deliverables must be in English.

Application process

Create an account on the Egis Foundation challenge platform at egis-impacthub.agorize.com and open the current edition.

Form or join a team of two to four students; each member registers and accepts the rules.

Choose the local area and the climate risk the project answers, and one of the three categories.

Complete the round-one questionnaire: the area, its climate hazards and vulnerabilities, the proposed adaptation solution, and an assessment of feasibility and innovation. Extra documents are optional.

Submit before the deadline, which was 28 March 2026 at 23:59 CET in the 2026 edition.

Egis voters and volunteers score the entries; the 15 best teams go through to the mentoring phase.

Selected teams work with Egis mentors, then upload a slide deck, a written project document and a social business model.
