The Taiwan International Student Design Competition is an annual program organized by the Department of Higher Education of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, with its executive office at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in Taipei. It invites students worldwide to submit work under an annual theme across product design, visual design, digital animation, architecture and landscape design, and fashion design.

The 2026 theme is Resilience. Entries are reviewed online in the preliminary round, while final judging takes place at physical venues; the 2026 submission window closed on July 15.

  • Entry is free.
  • One Grand Prix recipient receives NT$400,000 and a certificate.
  • Each of the five categories offers one Gold Prize of NT$250,000, one Silver Prize of NT$150,000, one Bronze Prize of NT$60,000, and several Honorable Mentions of NT$10,000, each with a certificate.
  • At least 15 International Design Association Special Prizes provide NT$30,000 and a certificate. Additional sponsored awards include three Environmental Sustainability Awards of NT$100,000 and six Special Region Awards of NT$30,000.
  • Finalists receive digital certificates. The organizer states that prize numbers and amounts may be adjusted according to entry quality and quantity.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be current students at senior high schools or higher-education institutions anywhere in the world at the online registration deadline. Students graduating in 2026 and students newly enrolling in 2026 are also eligible.
  • The standard route requires applicants to have been born after April 27, 1996 and to be younger than 30. A female applicant who gave birth before the application year receives a two-year age-limit extension for each child.
  • No nationality or residency restriction is stated.
  • Applicants must provide proof of current student status or the applicable 2026 graduation or enrollment document, an identity document that verifies date of birth, and a portrait.
