Reopens ~Oct 2027

Sustainable Renewable Energy Technologies (SuRE), formerly PPRE, is a two-year MSc at the University of Oldenburg in Germany for scientists and engineers aiming at careers in renewable energy.

Students combine theory, lab and outdoor experiments, company visits, industrial training and a thesis, leaning toward an applied or a science track. The 15 October 2026 deadline is only for DAAD EPOS scholarship applicants; self-funded applicants have until 15 January 2027.

Benefits & funding

  • Tuition is €1,500 per semester; with semester contributions the whole programme costs about €7,600.
  • DAAD EPOS scholars get €992 a month, insurance contributions and a travel allowance unless another source covers travel; the DAAD page does not say it pays tuition.
  • The university itself offers no scholarships for the programme.

Eligibility

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or natural science of at least 180 credits or three years, graded Second Upper Division or comparable; master’s holders may also apply.
  • English proof (e.g. TOEFL or IELTS; institutional TOEFL not accepted), unless a native speaker or taught fully in English.
  • DAAD EPOS route: nationals of developing countries on the DAAD list, with at least two years’ work experience and degrees normally no older than six years.
  • Self-funded route: open to all countries; experience in energy or rural development is welcome, not required.
