Rolling admission

The College of Science and Engineering Global Scholarships are University of Galway’s fee reductions for non-EU students starting an eligible bachelor’s or taught master’s programme in Galway, Ireland, in autumn 2027.

Most of the college’s schools give a merit award to every successful applicant, plus a few €10,000 Excellence awards. The IDEA referral award and the 50% Latin America Masters Scholarships on the same page are separate routes.

Benefits & funding

  • Undergraduate merit: €5,000 a year for every successful applicant (none listed in Engineering).
  • Taught master’s merit: €2,000; up to €5,000 in Computer Science and three Natural Sciences programmes.
  • Excellence: €10,000 a year, one per programme or per school (three per programme in Computer Science).
  • A partial fee waiver, applied after you pay 50% of the full fee; multi-year awards continue while you progress.

Eligibility

  • Applicants from non-EU countries only.
  • An offer for an eligible undergraduate or taught master’s programme in the college, for autumn 2027 entry.
  • Master’s routes: a bachelor’s degree meeting the programme’s entry requirements.
  • One Global Scholarship per student; with two offers, one (usually the smaller) is withdrawn.
