Girls Make Games Scholarship Fund provides need-based tuition assistance for students attending Girls Make Games summer camps or workshops administered by LearnDistrict Inc. Awards are decided case by case according to demonstrated financial need.

Eligible students may attend an in-person U.S. camp or the virtual camp. The 2026 flagship and virtual summer camps ran for three weeks, with participants learning game design and programming.

Benefits & funding

  • Need-based financial aid can cover up to 100% of camp tuition.
  • The 2026 three-week tuition was $2,300 for flagship in-person camps except Los Angeles, which was free through the Girls Make Games Scholarship Fund; virtual camp tuition was $1,650.
  • Payment plans are also available.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be U.S.-based girls or non-binary students ages 8–18, from elementary through high school.
  • Applicants must want to attend a Girls Make Games summer camp or workshop administered by LearnDistrict Inc.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need, submit all required paperwork, and provide a testimonial, review, or feedback after the program.
  • No prior coding or game-development experience is required for the 2026 camps.

Application process

    Email proof of income or financial hardship, such as tax returns, employment pay stubs, or bank statements, to programs@gmgsf.org.

    For the 2026 cycle, complete the required submission by May 1, 2026.
