Solana Online Hackathons are global, remote competitions hosted by the Solana Foundation and administered through Colosseum. Founders and developers build products on Solana over several weeks and submit them for judging.
The latest completed edition, Frontier, ran from April 6 to May 11, 2026. Colosseum has scheduled the next 2026 edition for September 28 to November 2, but has not yet published its registration deadline or edition-specific rules.
Benefits & funding
- Frontier awarded $30,000 CASH-SPL to the Grand Champion.
- It awarded $10,000 CASH-SPL each to the Public Goods Award, University Award, and 20 additional standout teams.
- All Frontier winners were interviewed for the Colosseum accelerator; accepted teams were offered $250,000 in pre-seed funding, a founder network, and mentorship.
- These figures belong to Frontier 2026; awards for the fall edition have not yet been published.
Eligibility
- Frontier was open to individuals who were at least the age of majority where they lived or 18, whichever was older; younger applicants could ask Colosseum for a case-by-case decision.
- People located or ordinarily resident in Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, or the listed Crimea/Sevastopol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions of Ukraine were ineligible. Other sanctions, export-control, legal, sponsor-employee, contractor, officer, director, and immediate-family exclusions also applied.
- Each entrant could join one team, and each team could submit one project at a time.
- Each team member had to register, the team leader had to submit the project, and all submitted content had to be in English.
- No degree, nationality, gender, or work-experience requirement was stated. Fall-cycle eligibility should be rechecked when its rules are released.
