SOAS Sustainable Development Goal Scholarship — Master's Scholarship

The SOAS Sustainable Development Goal Scholarship supports students entering a full-time, one-year taught master’s programme whose content connects with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. SOAS University of London offers four awards for the 2026/27 academic year for study in London.

Selection considers academic merit, the proposed subject’s relationship to sustainability, and evidence of commitment to sustainable solutions. The opportunity is recorded as annual because it is organised by academic cycle, but SOAS has not published the next opening date.

Benefits & funding

Four scholarships are available for 2026/27.
Each scholarship covers tuition fees in full.
Each recipient receives a maintenance stipend of at least £15,000.
The scholarship does not fund pre-sessional courses.

Eligibility

Applicants may have Home or Overseas fee status; there is no stated nationality or residency restriction.
Applicants must be new admissions starting a full-time, one-year taught master’s programme in September 2026.
The programme’s content must connect with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Applicants should hold or expect a UK first-class honours bachelor’s degree or an international equivalent. Those with non-UK degrees must evidence top academic ranking through transcripts and references. Applicants with a UK 2:1 or equivalent may apply but receive no preference.
Applicants must have applied to SOAS by the scholarship deadline. An admission offer is not required by that deadline, but an unconditional offer is required when the scholarship panel meets.
