Skoll BASc/MBA CIBC Scholarships — Master's Scholarship

The Skoll BASc/MBA CIBC Scholarships support eligible students entering Rotman’s combined Skoll BASc/MBA program and certain MBA applicants with recent engineering degrees. The University of Toronto administers the awards, which are supported by the Jeffrey Skoll Foundation and CIBC and matched through Ontario’s OSOTF program.

Selection is automatic from submitted MBA applications and considers eligibility, academic strength and leadership potential. The funding offsets part of the tuition difference between Engineering and the Rotman School of Management.

Benefits & funding

Successful Skoll BASc/MBA students may be considered for scholarships worth up to C$30,000.
A further CIBC award may be available, with its value changing from year to year according to the number of recipients.

Eligibility

Applicants must either be entering the Skoll BASc/MBA program or have graduated with an Engineering degree within the past five years and currently reside in Ontario.
Scholarship selection considers strong academic achievement and leadership potential.
OSOTF-matched funding requires Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, demonstrated financial need and 12 consecutive months of Ontario residence before starting a post-secondary program.
Non-combined Full-Time MBA applicants need at least two years of full-time work experience; the combined Skoll route does not require work experience.
For the combined Skoll route, applicants must be fourth-year students in any University of Toronto Engineering program and normally have at least a B+ average in each of their four most recent Engineering terms.

Application process

Confirm eligibility for the relevant MBA route and the scholarship’s Canadian status, Ontario residency and financial-need conditions.

Submit the Rotman MBA online application; no separate entrance-award application is required because submitted MBA applications are assessed automatically.

Combined Skoll applicants should submit all entrance documents, including GMAT or GRE results unless exempt, by February 1 for Skoll Foundation award consideration.

Provide financial-need and Ontario-residency evidence if requested; current-year OSAP is the simplest published route for showing need.
