Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship

Benefits & funding

• 100% of subsidised undergraduate tuition fees, after the MOE Tuition Grant, which the scholar must accept.
• S$6,000 living allowance each year.
• S$1,750 one-time computer allowance on enrolment.
• S$200 one-time settling-in allowance on enrolment.
• Annual accommodation allowance equal to the lowest double-room rate for on-campus accommodation.
• Travel allowance covering the incoming passage from the home country to Singapore at the start of the programme and the return passage after completion, the return leg subject to proof of employment.
• Tenable for the normal candidature period of the degree, renewed each semester on a GPA of at least 3.50 and good conduct.
• Conditions attached: a six-year bond with a Singapore-registered company immediately after graduation, no concurrently held scholarship or fellowship, at most 25% of credits earned through overseas programmes, and possible repayment if the scholar withdraws early.

Eligibility

• Citizens of an Asian country or region, excluding Singapore.
• Applying for admission to a full-time NUS undergraduate degree in Computing, Engineering (excluding Infrastructure and Project Management) or Science (excluding Environmental Studies and Pharmacy).
• Strong leadership qualities and potential.
• Excellent co-curricular activities record.
• Outstanding high school results.
• Transfer applicants from local or overseas universities are not eligible.
• Acceptance of the MOE Tuition Grant is required, since the award covers the subsidised fee.
• No separate application: every eligible applicant for undergraduate admission is considered automatically.

Application process

   Identify the NUS admission route that matches your high school qualification, and note that route’s application window — NUS runs one admission window per year.

   Apply for undergraduate admission through the NUS online application portal within that window, choosing a Computing, Engineering or Science programme.

   Complete the admission application in full: leadership roles, co-curricular record and academic results are what the scholarship is judged on.

   Attend a selection interview if shortlisted; interviews are held between January and July.

   Receive the scholarship outcome by mid-July.

   Accept the admission offer, the MOE Tuition Grant and the scholarship’s bond conditions before enrolment.
