The Salzburg Cutler Fellows Program, run by Salzburg Global Seminar since 2012 in honour of Lloyd N. Cutler, gathers up to 60 law students each year with judges, practitioners and faculty.
Fellows present original research on public or private international law, get feedback and career advice, and join the Salzburg Global Fellowship network. The 2027 session is set for 4–6 February in Washington, DC, after an online orientation.

- Three days in Washington, DC with feedback on your paper from law faculty and mentoring from public and private practitioners.
- Travel support comes from your law school and varies: Harvard gives “some funding to defray travel expenses”; NYU covered transport and two nights’ lodging for 2026, with meals provided by Salzburg Global.
- Membership of the Salzburg Global Fellowship network.
Eligibility
- 2L, 3L or LLM student at one of 15 partner schools: Berkeley, Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Michigan, NYU, Northwestern, Penn, Stanford, UCLA, Virginia, Yale.
- A research paper in progress on international, transnational or comparative law, which you intend to develop for publication.
- Each school selects up to four students; no nationality rule is stated.
